Who We Are

Company History

Started in 1967, AMCOR was established as a division of Rossborough Supply Company in Cleveland, Ohio. Rossborough was founded in 1942 by chemist Alexander Rossborough to develop, manufacture and supply specially formulated chemical compounds to foundries. The AMCOR division was later spun off by Ted and Margaret Fauber who grew the business and formed lasting relationships with customers, suppliers and employees. The family maintains full ownership of the business today as an independent entity, and also maintains the same disciplined philosophy towards growth built on quality and service.

Today, AMCOR operates a corporate office in Chicago and a total of five production facilities manufacturing fluxes and foundry products for the metals industry. We are proud of our reputation for best-in-class quality and exceptional customer service, and our entire team is devoted to continuing that tradition of service and excellence.

Locations

Home to AMCOR’s corporate office since 2016, the adjacent facility was the company’s first manufacturing location opened in the 1960s. Today, the Chicago plant is still supplying cover fluxes to aluminum industry.

Lorain, Ohio

Located on the Black River, a tributary of Lake Erie, AMCOR’s Lorain property houses large storage buildings for key ingredients that are supplied by self-discharging lake freighters. The facility specializes in manufacturing cover fluxes for the aluminum industry.

AMCOR’s manufacturing facility in Medina is capable of producing the entire product line of AMCOR fluxes and foundry products. As a second location in Northeast Ohio, Medina serves as redundancy for cover flux production, and primarily focuses on high-quality specialty fluxes used throughout the value chain for aluminum, magnesium and zinc. Medina is also home to the fiber tap out cone division known as AMI (American Metal Insulating).

The company’s Florence plant is strategically located on the Tennessee River and operates barge unloading equipment to supply key ingredients for production. AMCOR Florence has been in operation since 1999, and manufactures cover fluxes for the aluminum industry.
